Random observations about Russia
Actually, really only one new one. Russians dress WAY warmer than Americans. The temperature is steadily in the low 60s -- not great, but people are dressed like it's 10-15 degrees cooler. Overcoats, scarves, fur lines vests, boots etc. -- explains a little why Alexandra was bundled up like noone's business in August. On Wednesday we were on the Metro, mid60s, sunny day -- we were literally the only people who didn't have overcoats on, and everyone was staring at us. And, all the buildings, and planes are much much warmer than we are used to.
