Court

So I did receive news today -- Court hearing is scheduled in Moscow Municipal Court on August 25, 2011.  The schedule calls for me leaving for Moscow on the 22nd (Monday), arriving on Tuesday.  Wednesday, I am supposed to spend the day at the orphanage -- this is the time I'll have to measure and weigh her --b/c next time I'll see her, I'll be taking clothes and shoes, and diapers and everything else she'll need, with me.  I'll need to figure out what size she wears.  Thursday is court, and Friday I will head back home.  Although the court will rule on my Petition for Adoption immediately, there is a mandatory 10 day waiting period before the judgment becomes final.  So I'll get to go back to Moscow for the third time sometime in September to finally bring her home.
As is the norm, now things are pretty frantic.  I need to find a plane ticket, book a hotel in Moscow, get a visa, get my additional documents together, get the cash together I have to take with me, get stuff ready at work etc. etc.
Today I arranged for my visa, that is, I filled out the ridiculously long and detailed application, and sent it off, along with my passport and a sizable check to New York, hoping that it will miraculously be returned to me with a Russian visa.
I also booked my hotel -- it's one that the "Moscow team" recommended.  It's a little boutique hotel somewhere in Moscow.  I have not been able to figure out where it is in relation to the few things I know in Moscow.  One thing is for sure that it is not by Red Square  -- so it'll be a completely different area.  I hope that means that I'll get to see some new and different stuff, although I would like to walk around the Kremlin again, especially now that weather will be nice.
I am looking for a plane ticket - -they are ridiculously expensive, even more so than they were in March. The cheapest fare is on Aeroflot.  How Americanized have I become that this concerns me?  As if Delta or American were such fabulous airlines.  Really.
I have also hassled and bugged my homestudy agency -- so they should have my paperwork together and available for pickup tomorrow at lunch.
I have a lot of emotions swirling inside me -- I don't know that I'll be able to sort them out, so I'll be focusing on getting everything together and making this trip a success.  I'll think about the rest on the long Aeroflot flight. :
